Whether some inmates are gay, or gay for the stay, or guards are gay, or guards stay for the gay, or stay for the prey, or stay for the pay, what I fail to witness is any positive behavioral conditioning. Forcing inmates to stand at certain times or wear certain clothing no more benefits an inmate than to force a dog to wear sunglasses. When inmates return to the natural world they will not have to suffer the same ridiculous terms is to what governmental interest could it possibly satisfy to subject inmates? or dogs? My experience so far has been to witness people enjoying all the privilege and preference for their own personal validation and satisfaction. The people I have seen release from prison were generally the poorest behaved with nothing to lose and every indication they would continue to be so. There is also the whole standing-around-in-clusters-and-gossiping-while-they-claim-to-not-have-enough-staff thing. Counting toilet paper and confiscating pictures of my children? Prison isn't what people who never go would expect it to be. I can understand there is a class of people that can be harmful to separate from the trust that society requires to function. Disenfranchising people expected to return to society who have conditioned in an environment of criminal desperations only assures the future burden on society as a repeat offender or otherwise dependent member of social welfare programs. I can see so many things I would do differently with the opportunity to influence change.
Maybe I should have written more about dreams but I haven't been writing at the time morning when I still remember them.
