I have my restitution hearing this afternoon. A guard writes me up for having my sheet tied across my cell while I examine a mark on the back of my thigh. She refused to get me a nurse or a supervisor and then claimed I disobeyed an order as though I am obligated to expose myself to her or other inmates. I filed a grievance about it. The restitution hearing was frustrating but Myra was there and it brought me some happiness. I wanted to hug her but I was shackled hand and foot, with the connecting tether. Sadie testified that if she works five minutes per day she would not have been required to take any vacation but did not bother. The commissioner found me obligated to pay funeral costs of a man I never met and the lost wages to a woman who took complete days of vacation instead of doing five minutes of work for a job which she can do remotely, from anywhere.
