12:50pm, I go to Health Services Unit and see the physical therapist, Nate. He listens. He understands. I show him my stretches after explaining how I originally hurt myself. He shows me a few exercises that activate the specific muscles affected. He assigns me a physical therapy exercise routine and says he will follow up in a few weeks. Just an elastic band and six exercises a few times per week. Why didn't the jail physical therapist at least do this? He says that the pain is not making anything worse and that I have documented history to verify what I tell him. He also evaluates my flexibility, measuring angles I can twist and rotate. He says I might actually be hyper... modal? I forget his terminology. Too flexible? That correlates with a previous doctor who explained that your back muscles spasm to prevent potential injury and hold it steady to heal. Some damage might not heal or may heal incorrectly. Nate also knows what a Schmorl's node is. My take away: the pain is not further injury.
After Physical Therapist, Nate, I see Nurse Worley. Something in, or not in, the diet is leaving my scalp, eyebrows, and facial hair itchy and with dandruff. Cookie dusters are not supposed to have dandruff! Sulfur 8 is a scalp conditioner that works miracles on everything skin related, from what I have seen, but it isn't available at this institution. They authorized and are awaiting an alternative.
